A Brief Video on GenJ

What they're saying

Dear Generation Joshua Staff,

Thank you for your work.  My husband re-entered the military after 9-11, and my children have learned the meaning of service for love of country.  Their father’s latest separation in support of the war effort has been the longest, 8 months with 8 months to go.  However, the training of the heart and the knowledge you impart is rising up a different type of warrior, not only with young teens and adults; but also, their parents who no longer feel helpless as they learn how to empower themselves along with their children.  Thank you!

                                                            Sincerely,

                                                                 Cheri

A Note from the Director

Generation Joshua is designed for Christian youth between the ages of 11 and 19 who want to become a force in the civic and political arenas. Our goal is to ignite a vision in young people to help America return to her Judeo-Christian foundations. We provide students with hands-on opportunities to implement that vision. There are five major divisions to Generation Joshua.  Each division contributes to the entire program in a unique way.  The divisions are: Civics Education, GenJ Clubs, Voter Registration Initiatives, Student Action Teams, and Benjamin Rush Awards Program.

In America today, battles are being waged over many issues—from judicial activism to attacks on traditional marriage to the moral disintegration of our society. In the midst of the battles, we can lose sight of where our nation has come from, and these pressing concerns could crush our hope for America’s future.

John Winthrop, then governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony, wrote in 1630 concerning New England and America: “We shall be as a City upon a hill. The eyes of all people are upon us.” He warned that “if we shall deal falsely with our God in this work we have undertaken, and so cause him to withdraw his present help from us, we shall be made a story and a byword throughout the world.”  Generation Joshua wants America to be a perpetual city on a hill. We seek to inspire every one of our members with the kind of faith that sees beyond our present circumstances to what America can become—if each one of us consistently impacts our sphere of influence for Christ and for His glory.

An Introduction to the Program

Generation Joshua is a member-based program, that is, in order to take advantage of all that we offer, you must first become a member. The cost is minimal, and the benefits far outweigh the costs.  At conferences we have been asked many times, “What’s the catch?” and “This seems too good to be true!”  The reality is, we have made a commitment to educate and train the next generation about their civic responsibilities and are willing to do whatever it takes to meet this goal.

As with any program, teens will get out of the program the amount of effort they put in. There are no obligations associated with membership, but there are many opportunities to be involved.

How Do I Join?

There are two ways to become a member and two types of membership options.  You can join online (preferred) by clicking here OR you can print out the application and mail it into our offices.

You can choose from either of the two membership options:

  1. Individual Membership- $25 for two years per student for Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) members (with valid membership number), $35 for two years per student for non-HSLDA members.  Yearly renewal required.
  2. Family Membership- $100 one-time fee for HSLDA members, $200 for non-HSLDA members.  This membership is good for ten (10) years and covers all dependent children for ten years (up to 19 years of age).  Parent/guardian memberships included, as well.
