Welcome to Congress!

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Congress. As you are aware the camp includes a presidential campaign, the U.S. House and Senate, and a real time crisis.  The House of Representatives will have the same powers as the U.S. House, and the Senate will have the same powers as the U.S. Senate.  As is tradition senority will provide preference in the selection of President Pro-Tem of the Senate, however, new this year, the role of Speaker of the House of Representatives will be an elected position that you can run for! All legislation will have to pass both houses of Congress to be sent to the President, just like real life.
Welcome to the Federal Election Commision

In 1975, Congress created the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to administer and enforce the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) - the statute that governs the financing of federal elections. The duties of the FEC, which is an independent regulatory agency, are to disclose campaign finance information, to enforce the provisions of the law such as the limits and prohibitions on contributions, and to oversee the public funding of Presidential elections.  In 2005 the FEC was expanded to include the Generation Joshua iGovern Summer Camp.  Congress determined that a disproportionately large number of future leaders attended iGovern and decided they should be exposed to the difficulties of campaigning early in their experience.*
